My story

Born and raised in Luleå, Sweden, a town where winter never truly leaves, I always dreamed of warmer places. The thought of planting an orange tree in my own backyard and never having to shovel snow again was enough to fuel my ambition. But first, I had to embark on a journey that took me across continents, shaping me into the person I am today. At 19, in 2014, I moved to Umeå, Sweden, to study at Umeå University, pursuing a Degree of Master of Science in Engineering with a specialization in Computing Science and Engineering. My passion for technology and problem-solving made the decision easy. During university breaks, I would return to Luleå to work at Vattenfall Eldistribution AB as a system administrator, gaining hands-on experience in systems, networks, and automation, skills that would later define my career.

In 2018, seeking both adventure and academic growth, I moved to Shanghai, China, for a six-month exchange program at Fudan University. My time in Shanghai was more than just an academic endeavor; it was a cultural awakening. The city’s relentless energy, technological advancements, and a new perspective on innovation left a deep impact on me. Graduating in 2020, I returned to Luleå amidst a world in turmoil due to the ongoing pandemic. With the job market uncertain, I rejoined Vattenfall Eldistribution AB, working once again as a system administrator. But within six months, a new opportunity rose and I moved to Stockholm, Sweden, to join Vilja Solutions as a system engineer in their TechOps team. At Vilja, I found myself working at the forefront of modern core banking solutions, managing integrations, automations, and Kubernetes environments with banking security at the heart of everything I did. My journey with Vilja Solutions continued to evolve. In 2023, I took another leap, relocating to Beijing, China, to work as a software developer. It was an exciting challenge, adapting to a new work culture and bridging the gap between European and Asian banking technologies. Then, in 2024, my role shifted once again and I began focusing on technical sales support in Southeast Asia.

This transition saw me traveling extensively across the region, collaborating with the local sales team, and ensuring that Vilja’s cutting-edge banking solutions met the needs of an ever-growing market. From the snowy streets of Luleå to the vibrant metropolises of Asia, my journey has been anything but ordinary. While I still haven’t planted my own orange tree, I know that every step I’ve taken has brought me closer to a future where I can. Until then, the world remains my garden, and I’m just getting started.
